§ About ALP Lab
Open edge AI, built in Sweden.
We build vendor-neutral edge AI modules and the unified SDK that makes them interchangeable. The hardware engineering team in Västerås and the software team across Europe ship one platform that runs the same C/C++ across every E1M module — present and future.

What we ship
E1M modules + Alp SDK

§ Why we exist
Pick your silicon when the product ships, not when the schematic does.
Edge AI hardware is brittle. Every vendor ships a bespoke SoM with a bespoke pinout, a bespoke SDK, and a bespoke toolchain. Pick a chip before you ship a product and you've locked yourself in for the lifetime of the board. Pick another, and you start over.
We think that's backwards. The E1M open standard fixes the pinout and the mechanical envelope so the silicon underneath can change. The Alp SDK wraps every vendor's runtime under one C/C++ API on top of Arm CMSIS. The result: write firmware once, swap modules when your AI compute needs change.
We started in Västerås because Sweden has 70 years of industrial electronics behind it — Ericsson, ABB, Saab. Our customers ship robots, drones, smart cameras, and factory equipment that has to run in -40 °C warehouses for ten years. That's the bar.
§ The promise
- → One pinout for every E1M module. Carrier boards are forever.
- → One SDK across Alif, Renesas, DeepX silicon.
- → Open spec under CC BY-SA 4.0. No NDA. Read it on GitHub today.
- → Industrial reliability — -40 °C to +85 °C, long-term availability.
§ What we believe
Four principles that drive every design decision.
Open beats locked-in
Hardware standards belong to the community, not the vendor. Our E1M pinout is published under CC BY-SA 4.0; anyone can build a conformant module.
One SDK, every silicon
Engineers should never have to choose between picking the right chip and shipping firmware on time. Same C/C++ API across Alif, Renesas, and DeepX.
Industrial-grade by default
Extended temperature ranges, vibration tolerance, long-term silicon availability. Built for the factory floor, not the maker desk.
Customer success is shipping success
If you can't go from idea to first prototype in 30 minutes, we haven't done our job. We measure ourselves by your time-to-flash, not feature count.
